Dr. Stephanie Johnson is an Instructor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling, dedicated to training future counselors through an integrative approach that combines theoretical knowledge with empathetic, ethical, and culturally humble practice. She emphasizes active listening, self-awareness, and trauma-informed care in her teaching.
Her research and teaching interests span clinical mental health counseling, counseling theories, multicultural and group counseling, ethical and legal issues, assessment and diagnosis, human development, and counseling skills development. She fosters a reflective and supportive learning environment that prepares students for real-world clinical challenges.
Dr. Johnson is actively involved in mental health advocacy, particularly in reducing stigma around men's mental health. She integrates wellness practices such as yoga into community mental health initiatives and maintains a clinical practice. She also enjoys hiking and reading, and spends quality time with her family.
