Stephanie H Kim is a Professor in the Department of Linguistics/TESL at California State University, Northridge. She serves as the Associate Chair and acts as both the Undergraduate Advisor and Graduate Advisor for the MA in TESL program.

Dr. Kim’s research focuses on naturally occurring talk and the application of Conversation Analysis to language teaching and learning contexts. Her work bridges theoretical insights in interactional linguistics and pragmatics with practical implications for TESL/TEFL pedagogy and heritage language education.
Her publications have appeared in the Journal of Pragmatics, Research on Language and Social Interaction, Discourse Processes, and Asian EFL Journal, as well as in John Benjamin's Studies in Language and Social Interaction series. She was awarded the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) Project Development Grant (2020-2021).
