Dr. Stephanie Anderson is an Associate Professor of Instruction at the Zimmerman School of Advertising & Mass Communications, University of South Florida, where she oversees Z News, a student-produced news program airing on WEDQ (PBS). With 12 years of prior experience teaching at Murray State University, she is a certified college media adviser and serves as vice chair of the Broadcast Education Association's Student Media Advisor's Division.
Her research specializes in trauma journalism and media ethics, exploring how journalists cover traumatic events and the pedagogical approaches to prepare students for challenging reporting scenarios.
Her publication examines the application of moral development theory in training student journalists to ethically cover traumatic events, addressing both practical reporting skills and psychological considerations.
