Stephan Winnerl

Dr. Stephan Winnerl is the Head of Spectroscopy at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR), leading research in terahertz (THz) technology and semiconductor physics. His work focuses on advancing THz emitters, nanomaterials, and plasmonic systems, with applications in optoelectronics and condensed matter physics. Winnerl’s group specializes in ultrafast spectroscopy, exploring carrier dynamics in 2D materials and nanowires under extreme conditions.
