Stephan Heblich is Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Toronto and a CESifo Research Network Fellow. From September–December 2024, he serves as Visiting Researcher at ifo/CESifo in Munich. His research investigates spatial economic disparities through historical lenses, examining how factors like transport infrastructure, pollution, and trade exposure shape modern urban development, housing markets, and political behavior.
