Steffen König

Professor Steffen König is a faculty member at the University of Stuttgart, serving as Professor and Managing Director of the Institute for Algebra and Number Theory (IAZ). His research focuses on algebra, representation theory, homological algebra, and knot theory. He has held significant roles, including editorships for journals like Journal of Algebra and its Applications, and organized conferences such as the Homological Methods in Representation Theory (2021). König obtained his PhD from the University of Stuttgart in 1988 and his Habilitation in 1993. Notable awards include the Maier-Leibnitz Prize (1995) and the Heisenberg Fellowship.

Teaching responsibilities span courses like Linear Algebra and Analytic Geometry, Representation Theory of Algebras, and Higher Structures in Representation Theory. He has advised numerous students and contributed to academic networks such as the Network on Silting Theory.
