About
Stefan Huber is Professor and Head of Organic Chemistry II at Ruhr-Universität Bochum's Faculty of Chemistry and Biochemistry. His research focuses on organocatalysis and supramolecular chemistry, particularly developing new catalysts using halogen and chalcogen bonding principles. His group combines experimental studies with computational methods like DFT and CASPT2/RASPT2 modeling to investigate noncovalent interactions and reaction mechanisms.
The Huber Lab's current projects include exploring multidentate halogen bonding in solution, developing molecular tweezers, and creating mixed halogen/chalcogen bonding systems. Research is supported by an ERC Starting Grant and participation in the RESOLV cluster of excellence.
