Dr Stef Kerrigan is a Senior Lecturer in Drama and Acting at the University of Chester, affiliated with the Division of Communication, Screen and Performance within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. She teaches and supervises undergraduate and postgraduate students across disciplines such as core performance skills, performance making, and the historical context of drama and theatre.

Stef’s research focuses on contemporary theatre and performance, with emphasis on adaptation, postmodern theatrical practice, identity studies, and ecodramaturgy. She actively engages in practice as research, exploring the interplay between corporeal forms and lived roles through a collaborative project on involuntary autobiographical memories in performance. Her work bridges fictional and authentic narratives in theatrical contexts.
Stef’s teaching modules include Introduction to Physical and Vocal Techniques, Performance One, Landmarks in Performance, and Dance Practitioner, alongside interdisciplinary courses like Consensus and Dissent for the Institute of Gender Studies. She serves as co-convenor of the Directing and Dramaturgy Working Group for the Theatre and Performance Research Association (TaPRA).
