Stanko Simić

Stanko Simić is an Assistant Professor specializing in compositional-technical disciplines within the Composition Department at the Faculty of Music Art, University of Arts in Belgrade, where he actively contributes to academic and artistic development in contemporary composition.

His educational foundation includes:

• Undergraduate composition studies (2012) under Vlastimir Trajković at the Faculty of Music Art in Belgrade
• Master's (2015) and PhD (2023) composition degrees under Zoran Erić at the same institution
• Master's degree in piano (2011) under Lidija Stanković, earning the Slobodanka Milošević Savić Foundation Prize for best student performance in 2010

Simić's research centers on interpreting 20th and 21st century musical works, with dedicated specialization in Serbian composers and Alexander Scriabin's repertoire, which he actively promotes through performance and academic work. His artistic evolution has been shaped by collaborations with internationally recognized composers including Luca Francesconi and Aleksandra Vrebalov, resulting in a distinct compositional voice evident in works performed across European ensembles.

His distinguished recognitions include:

• Slobodanka Milošević Savić Foundation Prize (2010) for piano performance excellence
• Josip Slavenski Foundation Award (2013) for "Waves, trio for flute, violin and piano"

As a full member of the Composers’ Association of Serbia, Simić maintains significant professional engagement through international seminars and masterclasses. His compositions have been performed by prominent ensembles including RTS Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Bojan Sudjic), Radom Chamber Orchestra, Piano duo Bizjak, and Ensemble Metamorphosis, demonstrating his active presence in contemporary music performance circuits across Serbia and Europe.
