Stanislav Molchanov is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte), where he has held the position since 1994. His primary affiliation is with the Mathematics & Statistics Department. Born on 21 December 1940 in Snetinovo, Russian Federation, he has an extensive academic background, including a Candidate of Sciences (Ph.D.) from Moscow State University (1967) and a Doctor of Sciences (1983).
His research focuses on probability theory, stochastic processes, spectral theory, and applications to physics, geophysics, and biochemistry. Notable areas include Martin boundary theory, diffusion processes on Riemannian manifolds, and intermittency in disordered structures.
