Dr hab. Stanisław Halat is a University Professor at the Institute of Music, Faculty of Arts, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Poland. He specializes in jazz and popular music, particularly percussion techniques, and has been a key figure in music education since 1998. He is also a composer, arranger, and performer with over 100 published works.
His research focuses on metro-rhythmic relations and their application in ensemble playing, integrating stylistic diversity from jazz, funk, fusion, Afro-Cuban, Afro-Brazilian, and big-band traditions. He employs techniques like Moeller stroke and velocity stroke in teaching.
