Dr. Stan Shire is an Associate Professor and Reader in Sustainable Energy Systems at the University of Warwick's School of Engineering. He leads the Mechanical, Materials and Process Discipline Stream and oversees the Advanced Mechanical Engineering MSc program. His expertise spans thermo-fluids, two-phase flows, and low-temperature heat systems. Research focuses on energy efficiency, solar technologies, phase change materials, and heat recovery systems.
Stan has led major initiatives like I-STUTE (EPSRC) and LoT-NET (EPSRC), advancing low-temperature heat networks. He chairs the Energy GRP Steering Committee and collaborates with industry via projects such as HP-FITS (EPSRC) and Circular Microgrids (UKRI). His team operates state-of-the-art labs funded by InnovateUK.
