Stacey Shipe

Stacey Shipe serves as Chair and Associate Professor of Social Work at Binghamton University's College of Community and Public Affairs (CCPA). Her research focuses on organizational culture's impact on caseworker decision-making in child welfare systems, emphasizing racial disparities and implicit biases. She also explores custodial fathers' experiences in traditionally feminized systems like TANF and family court.

Shipe holds a PhD from the University of Maryland (Social Work), an MSc from the University of Oxford (Evidence-Based Social Interventions), an MSW from New York University (Social Work), and a BA from the University of Washington (Psychology). Her expertise spans mixed-methods research, policy analysis, and organizational behavior.

Her work addresses systemic inequities in child welfare, including racial disproportionality, family outcomes, and frontline worker practices. Recent studies examine telehealth for sexual assault care, community-based wraparound services, and scaling prevention programs. She advocates for policy reforms to address disparities and improve family support systems.
