Stacey-Rae Simcox is a Professor of Law and serves as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Stetson University College of Law. She is also the Director of the Veterans Law Institute and Veterans Advocacy Clinic. Prior to joining Stetson in 2014, she founded and directed the Lewis B. Puller Jr. Veterans Benefits Clinic at William & Mary Law School, recognized as a national best practice by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Her research focuses on veterans law, administrative law, and medical-legal partnerships. She has pioneered collaborations between legal and medical institutions to improve VA disability compensation processes, particularly for veterans with traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Her work addresses constitutional rights violations, VA bureaucratic inefficiencies, and discharge upgrade legal frameworks.
Professor Simcox co-edited Servicemembers and Veterans Rights and authored chapters on TBI, PTSD, and veterans benefits. She has testified before VA advisory committees and presented at conferences including the American Psychological Association and AALS Clinical Legal Education conferences.
As a U.S. Army Major (retired) and former Trial Counsel in the Army Reserves, she brings firsthand military and legal expertise to her teaching in veterans law, administrative law, and trusts and estates.
