Srimal Samansiri

Dr. Srimal Samansiri serves as a Facility Development Manager and Researcher at the THINKlab, University of Salford. He holds a PhD in Disaster Management (2023) from the University of Salford, a Master of Public Administration in eGovernment (2019) from the University of Sri Jayawardenenpura, a PG Diploma in eGovernment (2013) from the same institution, a PG Diploma in GIS and Remote Sensing (2003) from the Centre for Space Science and Technology Education for Asia and Pacific, and a BSc in Physical Science (2001) from the University of Peradeniya.

His research expertise spans several critical areas of disaster management: Early Warning Systems development, Disaster Information Systems design, Hazard and Risk Assessment methodologies, Satellite Remote Sensing applications, E-Government frameworks, and Data Governance in crisis contexts. His work focuses on integrating technology with disaster resilience strategies.

Dr. Samansiri's publications consistently address flood and tsunami risk assessment using geospatial technologies, with recent work focusing on system failure analysis in early warning systems. His research demonstrates strong emphasis on practical applications in vulnerable regions like Sri Lanka and Northeast India.
