Srdjan Sljukic

Srdjan Sljukic is a full professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad, where he has been employed since 1998. He has served in various administrative roles including head of the Department of Sociology (2009-2012) and deputy head (2006-2009), and holds editorial responsibilities at academic publications like the Yearbook of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences Collection of Matica Srpska.

• Education: Graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad; Master's (2000) and Doctorate (2004) in sociological sciences from the same faculty.

His research focuses on rural sociology, particularly agrarian structures and cooperative dynamics, while also examining social aspects of conflict and their intersections with education, culture, and sports. His work spans comparative studies in Eastern Europe, including study stays in Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, and Russia.

Recent publications (2015-2019) include monographs on rural sociology trends and journal articles analyzing post-socialist transformations. Notably, his 2015 co-authored book The Village in the Sociological Mirror received the prestigious Vojin Milić Award for best sociological book in Serbia.
