Spyros Bezantakos is an Associate Research Scientist at the Climate & Atmospheric Research Center (CARE-C) of the Cyprus Institute (CyI). He holds an MSc (2011) and PhD (2016) in Environmental Engineering and Aerosol Science from the University of the Aegean. His expertise includes aerosol physicochemical properties, climate effects, and instrumentation development for environmental monitoring.
Education:
- MSc in Environmental Engineering, University of the Aegean (2011)
- PhD in Aerosol Science, University of the Aegean (2016)
Research Interests: Focuses on aerosol characterization, climate modeling, and health impacts. He develops advanced instrumentation for probing aerosol properties and has contributed to over 23 peer-reviewed publications. His work spans national and international projects, including the PRECEPT initiative with ADITESS LTD.
Prior Experience:
- Postdoctoral Researcher, Université du Littoral Côte d'Opale (ULCO), France (2016–2017)
- Lead Researcher for the PRECEPT project (CyI & ADITESS LTD consortium, 2018–2021)
Current Role: Works within the Instrumentation Lab and Nano-Lab facilities (INL) at CARE-C, advancing atmospheric research and environmental science.
