Dr. Spencer Hartman is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Practice of Flute at Texas Tech University's School of Music. He actively performs as Principal Flute with the Roswell Symphony Orchestra and Southwest Symphony, and as Flute III/Piccolo with the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra. His teaching emphasizes kinesthetic awareness through Body Mapping and Yoga, aiming to prevent performance-related injuries.

His notable achievements include being a semi-finalist in the National Flute Association's Young Artist Competition and serving on professional committees such as the Texas Flute Society Executive Board and the National Flute Association's Performance Health Committee.
Additionally, he is a collaborative pianist with extensive experience in vocal, choral, and operatic performances, having participated in the world premiere of Erik Franklin’s Zephyr Rhapsody for Clarinet, Trumpet, and Piano.
