Soumyajit Mukherjee

Soumyajit Mukherjee is a Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. His work spans diverse aspects of structural geology and tectonics, including field-based studies, analogue and analytical modeling, and microstructural analysis across collisional, conservative, and extensional tectonic regimes. He focuses on ductile shear zones, shear sense reversal, and interdisciplinary applications of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics to geological deformation.
