Sorcha Brophy

Sorcha Brophy is an organizational sociologist and Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Management at the Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University. Her research examines ethics policy development, politics within professional medical associations, global health worker protests, and state-level healthcare challenges for foster youth.

• Education: BA, MA, MPhil, and PhD from Yale University (2005–2015)

Her work appears in interdisciplinary journals such as the Journal of Professions and Organization, Health Affairs, and Journal of Health Politics, Policy & Law. She will deliver a keynote at the Arthur Olsen Student Research Symposium, highlighting her contributions to understanding structural barriers in community health systems (e.g., rigid grant funding impacts, telehealth reimbursement policies).
