Sophie Springer

Sophie Springer serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Design Department at Santa Reparata International School of Art (SRISA) in Florence, Italy. Originally from Vienna, Austria, she came to Florence specifically to study Fashion Design and has been teaching at international schools in the city for over 20 years.

Professor Springer specializes in practical fashion design techniques with emphasis on accessories creation. Her expertise spans Patternmaking, Draping, Collection Production, and Garment Construction. She brings substantial industry experience to her teaching, having designed and produced her own handbag line "100% pure Italy" since 2004. Her educational philosophy centers on knowledge exchange, stating: "What motivates me as a teacher is to be able to share and pass on my knowledge to my students, but also learn from and exchange ideas with them."

After completing her studies at Polimoda in Florence with an F.I.T. program, she continued specializing in accessories design with particular focus on shoes and bags. This professional experience directly informs her teaching approach, allowing her to bridge academic instruction with real-world fashion industry practices.
