Dr. Soohyun Yun is an Associate Professor of Music and Director of Keyboard Studies at Charleston Southern University. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance and Literature (with a minor in Theory) and dual Master's degrees in Piano Pedagogy and Performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her Bachelor of Music was earned at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea.
Her research focuses on piano performance pedagogy, historical performance practices, and contemporary repertoire analysis, with specialized work on composers like Benjamin Lees and Ravel. She has presented at over 40 international conferences, including the World Piano Conference and MTNA National Conference.
Dr. Yun's publications emphasize practical pedagogy, technical analysis of piano literature, and reviews of educational resources. Her scholarly output reflects consistent exploration of piano technique evolution and cross-cultural teaching methodologies.
