Sonia Castro Mallamaci

Sonia Castro Mallamaci is an academic affiliated with the Swiss University of Professional Studies (SUPSI), where she holds the role of Adjunct Professor of History Teaching in the Department of Education and Learning (DFA). She has also contributed to the University of Italian Switzerland (USI) as a Teacher within the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society.

• Education: PhD in 'Institutions, Ideas, and Political Movements in Contemporary Europe' from the University of Pavia.

Her research focuses on:

• History of anti-fascism in Switzerland.
• Contemporary cultural and student flows between Switzerland and Italy.
• Italian emigration to Switzerland.
• History teaching methodologies.

She has secured research grants from the Canton of Ticino, SNSF, and the University of Pavia, and initiated the project 'The Lives of the Righteous' in collaboration with the city of Lugano and other institutions.
