Solomon G Haile is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the GIS Program at Tennessee State University, where he has been employed since June 2010. His academic career spans multiple continents with significant contributions to environmental science and geospatial research.
Dr. Haile's educational background includes:

Prior to his PhD, he served as teaching faculty at the University of Asmara, Eritrea for five years. From 2007-2010, he worked as an associate post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Soil and Water Science focusing on plant-soil biogeochemical interfaces and tree-based carbon sequestration.
His research program integrates three core areas: sustainable tree-based bioenergy production, ecosystem services of trees beyond traditional forest lands, and applied Geospatial Sciences. This interdisciplinary approach addresses critical environmental sustainability challenges through both theoretical frameworks and practical applications.
