About
Soledad Forcadell serves as Associate Professor of Hispanic Studies and Director of Latin American and Caribbean Studies at DePauw University, where her work critically examines contemporary Latin American narratives through literary and cultural lenses.
Her research spans three primary domains: analysis of poverty representation in 21st-century Argentinean literature following the 2001 economic crisis; investigation of sensory experiences as narrative tools in Latin American chronicles to explore identity formation; and documentation of fourth-wave feminist activism through digital media, street performances, and theater. She focuses on how language, imagery, and creative techniques challenge societal norms and advance social justice discourse.
As Director of Latin American and Caribbean Studies, she promotes interdisciplinary scholarship on regional cultural dynamics and marginalized communities, integrating literary analysis with socio-political critique to illuminate pathways for equity and representation.
