Sofiia Rappe is an Honorary Fellow at Durham University's Department of Philosophy and an Affiliate Faculty Member in the philosophy of psychiatry and neuroscience at the American Canadian School of Medicine. She previously held the Ruhr University Alliance Futures Fellowship (NYU/Rutgers) and a postdoctoral position at Ruhr University Bochum, where she was a Neuromind Fellow (2022-23). Her research integrates philosophy, linguistics, psychology, computer science, and neuroscience to explore cognitive mechanisms underlying consciousness and predictive processing.
Education: PhD in Neurophilosophy (LMU Munich, 2022, supervised by Prof. Ophelia Deroy); M.Sc. in Mind, Language, and Embodied Cognition (University of Edinburgh, supervised by Prof. Andy Clark); B.Sc. in Linguistics and Mathematics (University of Toronto).
