Sofia Poulia

Sofia Poulia is a PhD fellow at the Department of English, Germanic and Romance Studies, University of Copenhagen. Her research is conducted under the Centre for Culture and the Mind and focuses on post-conflict subjectification processes in Istočno Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Her research explores socio-cultural dynamics in post-war environments, particularly how different generations navigate identity formation and memory in the context of Istočno Sarajevo. This work intersects with themes of urban anthropology, political anthropology, and generational studies.

Sofia’s academic focus centers on the long-term cultural and psychological impacts of conflict, examining how communities reconstruct social norms and personal identities in post-conflict urban spaces.
