Sneha Daya, MD (she/her) serves as an Associate Professor in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Georgetown University School of Medicine. She practices clinically as a hospitalist at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital and precepts in the Med/Peds resident clinic at Medstar Glover Park. Leadership roles include founding the Internal Medicine Department's Equity/Inclusion/Diversity (EID) Committee, directing Georgetown University's Health Policy and Public Health course, and co-leading the Racial Justice Committee for Change (RJCC) faculty development subgroup.
Dr. Daya graduated from Albany Medical College and completed her combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics residency at Christiana Care Health System. Her clinical training underpins her dual expertise in adult and pediatric care, directly informing her commitment to equitable healthcare delivery.
Her research centers on advancing health equity through medical education reform, active patient advocacy, and simulation-based communication training. She pioneers inclusive mentorship models to enhance clinical learning environments and recently integrates artificial intelligence with health equity initiatives in hospital medicine. This work targets systemic bias reduction and culturally responsive care frameworks across medical education and practice.
Dr. Daya holds active funding from the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation for clinical learning environment research. She serves nationally on the American Board of Pediatrics Bias & Sensitivity Review Task Force and co-leads EID initiatives within Medstar Hospital's Medicine Clinical Practice Council, focusing on quality improvement across Maryland and DC healthcare systems.
As affiliate faculty of the Georgetown University Medical Humanities Initiative, she bridges equity discourse with artistic expression. Her collaborative networks include the Racial Justice Committee for Change and Medstar Hospital's EID committee, driving institutional transformation through curricular innovation and policy advocacy.
