Slavisa Stankovic

Prof. Dr. Slavisa Stankovic is a Full Professor and Scientific Advisor in the Department of Microbiology at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade. With a career spanning over two decades, he has held progressively senior roles since 1994, including Assistant, Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor, culminating in his current position since 2021.

Education:

• Biology Graduate (1993), Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade
• Master of Biological Sciences (1998), Department of Microorganism Biology, thesis: 'Distribution and population dynamics of bacteria in spring ecosystems'
• Doctor of Biological Sciences (2003), Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, dissertation: 'Identification of introns in Bacillus sp. isolated from natural habitats'

Research Interests:His work focuses on microbial genetics, particularly intron identification in Bacillus species, and ecological studies of bacterial populations in spring ecosystems. He has contributed to molecular biology and environmental microbiology through his academic career.
