Dr. Slava Vasenev is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Soil Geography and Landscape at Wageningen University. His research focuses on urban soils, soil carbon sequestration, and the environmental impacts of urbanization. He holds a PhD from Wageningen University (2015) and earlier degrees from Lomonosov Moscow State University. His work integrates IoT and remote sensing to monitor urban ecosystems, particularly in Arctic regions. Vasenev teaches courses on soil geography and leads the annual international summer school '3MUGIS' on anthropogenic soils.
