About
Siyuan Dai is Associate Professor and Ginn Faculty Achievement Fellow in Mechanical Engineering at Auburn University's Samuel Ginn College of Engineering. His research explores light-matter interactions at nanoscales, specializing in nano-optics, hyperbolic phonon polaritons, and spectroscopic imaging of 2D materials.
Dai's innovative work has developed nano-imaging techniques to probe exciton dynamics and polariton behavior in van der Waals heterostructures. Applications span quantum photonics, biosensing, and infrared optoelectronics. Recent projects include nanoplasmonic platforms for exosome detection and twist-engineered photonic materials.
Honored with an NSF CAREER Award, he pioneers methods to manipulate material responses using confined light fields. His lab advances fundamental understanding and practical applications of nanophotonic phenomena.
