About
Siyao Xu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Florida, specializing in theoretical astrophysics. As a NASA Hubble Fellow with appointments at UW-Madison and IAS, her research examines MHD turbulence, cosmic ray propagation, and star formation mechanisms using advanced statistical and computational methods.
Her work has been recognized with the IUPAP Young Scientist Prize and IAU PhD Prize. Recent publications explore turbulent reconnection acceleration, interstellar medium dynamics, and fast radio burst dispersion.
Research combines magnetohydrodynamics, plasma physics, and statistical analysis to understand particle transport in highly compressible turbulence near supernova remnants and other astrophysical environments.
