Siva Reddy is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science and Linguistics at McGill University, a Canada CIFAR AI Chair, core faculty member at Mila Quebec AI Institute, and research scientist at ServiceNow Research. He co-leads the McGill NLP Group. Previously, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford University and Google PhD Fellow at the University of Edinburgh.
His research focuses on representation learning for language with four core themes: (1) Language representation for machine reasoning, (2) Human-machine conversational interaction and trustworthiness, (3) AI safety and multilingual accessibility, and (4) Multimodal language integration. He develops methods to improve reasoning capabilities, retrieval-augmentation for trustworthy dialogue systems, and cross-lingual/multimodal modeling.

He advises 14+ graduate students (PhD/MSc) and has supervised 15+ alumni including postdocs, PhD graduates, and research interns. Current research groups include the McGill NLP Group with focus areas in conversational AI and multilingual systems.
Professional Service: Senior Area Chair (EMNLP 2024, NAACL 2022), Ethics Chair (COLM 2024), Tutorial Chair (ACL 2023), and Area Chair for 6+ major NLP conferences. Contributed to open-source tools for Indian language processing including POS taggers, dependency parsers, and WordNet implementations.
