Norwegian University of Science and TechnologyAbout
Siv Stakset Brenne is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the HUNT Research Center, affiliated with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). She serves as Senior Consultant in General Surgery and Gastroenterological Surgery at Levanger Hospital since 2017, and became Chief Education Officer in 2023. Her PhD work (2018-2024) focused on circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) applications in colorectal cancer.
- Education: Cand. med. (University of Copenhagen, 2010)
- Primary Affiliation: HUNT Research Center, Levanger
- Additional Affiliation: KG Jebsen Center for Genetic Epidemiology
Research Focus: Developing ctDNA-based tools for early colorectal cancer diagnosis and prognosis prediction through liquid biopsies. Her work examines tumor DNA dynamics in pre-diagnostic blood samples and evaluates methylation markers across multiple biofluids.
Publication Trends: Concentrated on ctDNA biomarker validation (2020-2024), cancer risk stratification models, and gender-specific epidemiological patterns in colorectal cancer. Demonstrates translational research bridging clinical practice and population-based genomics.
