Sisi Han

Dr. Sisi Han is an Assistant Professor at the Kimmel School of Construction Management within the College of Engineering and Technology at Western Carolina University. She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Civil Engineering from Marquette University, an M.S. from Guangzhou University, and a B.S. from Central South University of Forestry and Technology. Her research focuses on integrating artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and computer vision into construction and infrastructure management, emphasizing drone technology, as-built BIM, and green infrastructure.

Dr. Han's work spans construction automation, machine learning applications in pavement evaluation, and drone-based elevation determination. She has received notable awards including the 2022 ASCE Best Paper Award and Editor’s Choice recognition. Her teaching covers construction materials, geotechnical engineering, BIM, and structural engineering.

Key research themes include AI-driven infrastructure analysis, robotic systems in construction, and sustainable infrastructure management. Her recent studies apply deep learning to asphalt concrete imaging, automated façade modeling, and pavement condition assessment. She actively collaborates on projects involving LiDAR, photogrammetry, and digital twin systems.
