Sirko Harder

Sirko Harder is a Professor and Reader in Law at the University of Sussex, affiliated with the School of Law, Politics and Sociology. He serves as Convenor of the LLM programme and has been at Sussex since 2014. Previously, he held positions at Monash University (Australia), the University of Leicester (UK), the University of Aberdeen (Scotland), and the University of Tübingen (Germany). He obtained doctorates from the University of Tübingen and the University of Aberdeen.

Research Interests
Sirko’s primary research focuses on the law of obligations, including contract, tort, and unjust enrichment, with a specialization in damages and legal remedies. He also investigates private international law, frequently comparing laws across multiple jurisdictions. His work emphasizes interdisciplinary analysis and comparative legal frameworks.
