Sinan Richards

Sinan Richards is a Lecturer in French at University College Cork, specializing in twentieth-century European and Francophone philosophy and anti-colonial theory. His research focuses on the intersection of critical theory, gender, and decoloniality.

Education: DPhil from University of Oxford, MA from City University of New York, BA from University of Delhi.

• Psychoanalytic approaches to literature and cinema
• History of French psychoanalysis and psychiatry
• Gender studies and queer theory
• Decolonial philosophy and critical theory

His publications examine the relationships between madness, freedom, and psychoanalytic theory, particularly in the works of Lacan and Fanon. Recent work explores the philosophical connections between love and madness.
