Simonetta Alessandri

Simonetta Alessandri is Associate Lecturer specializing in dance and choreography across Goldsmiths' Drama and Performance programs. Trained in Ballet, Contemporary, and Contact Improvisation, she holds RAD Teaching Certification and Feldenkrais qualifications.

Pedagogical research integrates improvisation, contact techniques, and Feldenkrais methods into choreographic development. Investigates relationships between somatic exploration, movement vocabulary creation, and performance composition. Current projects examine embodied voice and transfer of somatic learning to performance contexts.

Professional practice includes international performances and choreography for theater, opera, and site-specific works. Founded RomaContact organization to develop Contact Improvisation in Italy.

Teaches at leading institutions including Laban Centre, London Contemporary Dance School, and Moving East.
