Simone van der Plas

Dr. Simone van der Plas is a Visiting Fellow at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, affiliated with the Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences, Clinical Child and Family Studies department. She also holds fellowships at APH - Quality of Care and LEARN! - Child rearing. Her research focuses on intellectual disability care, professional development, and workplace learning, with particular attention to involuntary care reduction and quality of life assessment in vulnerable populations.

Her work integrates clinical practice, ethical frameworks, and interprofessional collaboration. Recent studies address post-pandemic care challenges, intervention methods for intellectual disability populations, and the implementation of multidisciplinary approaches in healthcare.
