Professor Simon Willmoth is an art historian and curator with extensive experience as an academic and director of research in art schools and universities across England, Scotland, and the USA. He leads research projects in collaboration with external organizations such as the Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, Hospital Rooms, and Collusion (Cambridge). He is a founding partner of the Norfolk and Waveney Arts and Health Collaborative and directs the University’s Research Degrees programme, currently supervising three doctoral students. His research focuses on creative arts and health, contemporary fine art practice, and art and design pedagogy.
He has led exhibitions at institutions including The Whitechapel Gallery, Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, and Palazzo Reale Milan. His roles include Chair of the EASTinternational Steering Committee and external member of Tate Gallery’s Doctoral Training Board. His work bridges academic research with practical applications in healthcare and contemporary art partnerships.
