About
Simon-Philipp Merz is a Research Fellow in the Applied Cryptography Group at ETH Zurich. His research focuses on post-quantum cryptography with specialization in cryptanalysis of isogeny-based systems. He currently holds fellowships from the German Research Foundation (DFG) and Zurich Information Security Center (ZISC).
His work examines security assumptions underlying cryptographic protocols, developing both attacks and defenses for next-generation systems. Recent publications analyze vulnerabilities in content-defined chunking systems and improve isogeny computation algorithms. He maintains active collaborations with IBM Research Zurich and academic partners internationally.
