Simon P Newman

Simon Newman is Honorary Professorial Research Fellow at University of Glasgow specializing in Atlantic slavery and popular protest. His Leverhulme-funded research documents enslaved people brought to 18th-century Scotland. He co-authored the University's report on historical slavery connections.

Research examines runaway slaves, democratic ideals in Renaissance Italy, and cultural representations of revolution. His work combines archival research with digital humanities approaches.
