Simon Freise is a Researcher in contemporary Islamic studies at the Institute for Islamic Theology (IIT), University of Osnabrück, since 2024. He collaborates with the CRC 1604 B4 project on 'Mosques and the Production of Belonging.' Previously, he was a doctoral student in the Graduate School 'Jewish and Muslim Religious Communities from a Social Science Perspective' (2021–2024), funded by the Avicenna Scholarship Foundation.
