Simon Eales is a PhD candidate and Presidential Fellow in the Department of English at the University at Buffalo, New York. His research spans modern and contemporary poetry and poetics, theatre and performance studies, literary theory, colonialism, and sexuality.
- Education: B.A. in English Literature and European Studies, M.A. in English Literature from the University of Melbourne
Simon co-founded the Ecopoetics Workshop, Georges Bataille reading group, and Buried Text podcast. He has served as President of the English Graduate Student Association at UB.
His publications include contributions to the Cambridge History of Australian Poetry (2023), Cordite Poetry Review, and The Music. His scholarly work focuses on radical Australian poetics and interdisciplinary intersections of literature, performance, and cultural theory.
