Simeon Ilesanmi is the Wake Forest University Distinguished Professor of Religious Studies and Graduate Program Director at the Department for the Study of Religions, Wake Forest University. He holds a PhD from Southern Methodist University and a JD from Wake Forest University School of Law. His teaching focuses on comparative ethics, international human rights, religion and law, ethics of war and peace, and African religions.
His research interests include human rights, ethics of war, and religion, law, and politics in Africa. He authored Religious Pluralism and the Nigerian State (1997) and contributes to scholarly journals. He serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Religious Ethics and on editorial boards of other journals. His work bridges religious studies, legal scholarship, and political ethics.
