Silviya Lechner

Dr. Silviya Lechner is a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the Department of War Studies, King's College London. Her academic affiliations include the School of Security Studies within the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. She holds a PhD from Aberystwyth University and has focused her career on bridging political theory with international relations.

Her research spans International Relations, Philosophy, and Social Theory, with particular emphasis on:

• The problem of anarchy and authority in international systems
• Practice theory as a lens for understanding normative international structures
• Hobbesian and Kantian political philosophy

• Critique of late modernity (Frankfurt School)

Her recent publications analyze Hobbes's state of nature, practice theory in IR, and ethical dilemmas arising from big data and algorithms. These works intersect with broader debates on sovereignty, risk, and the evolution of global political authority.
