Silvio Vaschetto

Silvio Vaschetto is a Full Professor at the Department of Energy (DENERG), Politecnico di Torino, and serves as the contact person for the Electrical Engineering degree program. He is a member of the Interdepartmental Center Ec-L - Energy Center Lab.

• Research Interests: Advanced design of electrical machines, thermal modeling, superconducting AC windings, aircraft electrification, and power electronics.
• Editorial Roles: Associate Editor for IET Electric Power Applications (2019-) and IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications (2018-).
• Key Projects: SUPERDRIVE (Superconductive Synchronous Machines), SYNERGY (Cryogenic Power Electronics), and P4ELECS (Electrification Skills Platform).

His recent research focuses on superconducting electrical machines, AC loss mitigation, and dynamic modeling for high-power applications. Publications emphasize flux maps, thermal performance, and fault-tolerant designs for hybrid-electric aircraft.
