Prof. Silke Beck is a Full Professor of Sociology of Science and Technology at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), leading the Chair of Sociology of Science and Technology since 2022. She holds a Magistra Artium in Political Science and Germanistik from the University of Heidelberg (1985–1996) and a Dr.rer.soc. in Sociology from Bielefeld University (1996–2000). Her research focuses on science-society interfaces, particularly global environmental assessments like the IPCC and IPBES, governance of socio-technical transformations, and evidence-based environmental policy.
