Sigrid Wangensteen

Professor Sigrid Wangensteen leads research in nursing education and clinical competence at NTNU's Department of Health Sciences. Her work develops assessment tools and educational frameworks for nursing professionals across Nordic countries.

Educational Research: Designed the Professional Nurse Self-Assessment Scale (PNSAS) adapted for Nordic healthcare systems. Studies examine simulation-based training effectiveness, interprofessional education models, and clinical competence development pathways.

Competency Framework: Contributed to European nursing competency standards through qualitative analysis of national guidelines. Current projects investigate study program leadership challenges in higher education institutions.

Aging Studies: Co-directs the Norwegian Survey of Health and Ageing (NORSE), examining healthcare needs of elderly populations.
