Sigrid C. Roberts

Sigrid C. Roberts is a Professor at Pacific University specializing in the biological mechanisms of neglected tropical diseases, with primary focus on leishmaniasis affecting 12 million people annually. Her work bridges pharmaceutical science and molecular parasitology to develop novel therapeutic strategies targeting parasite-specific metabolic pathways.

She examines how these critical metabolites govern parasite proliferation and survival, aiming to validate this pathway as a target for new treatments against both cutaneous and visceral forms of leishmaniasis. Her work addresses urgent needs in tropical disease therapeutics where current options are often toxic or ineffective.
